MIKE CARANDANG

Michael Carandang is an Emmy award-winning Filipino television producer, director and brand ambassador. He was a Telecommunication graduate of Indiana University, whose first job was with the Jerry Springer Show. In 2005, he moved to Los Angeles to produce for the Tyra Banks Show, where the show received a Daytime Entertainment Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show/ Informative in 2009. In 2011, he transitioned from a talk show producer to a reality show producer when he jumped on board in the CW’s reality show, America’s Next Top Model, from Cycles 15 to 18. 

He is the man behind the international stints of various Filipinos in America’s Next Top Model, particularly Michael Cinco’s designs that were featured during cycles 16 and 17, Georgina Wilson’s invitation as a guest model/stylist in cycle 17, featuring the Bench underwear line, and Francis Libiran’s gowns modeled by Anne Curtis during cycle 18.

He was named as one of the MEGA Global Pinoy Awardees during the MEGA Pinoy Pride Ball that was held last June 12, 2012. That same year, he was chosen by the Philippine Retail Association as a keynote speaker to address the Global Trends in Marketing and Branding on the 21st National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo on August 9-10, 2012. 

Currently, he is the Creative TV Head of One Mega Group’s TV100. He’s responsible for conceptualizing, producing and directing shows under the One Mega Group television platform (such as I Am Meg: Search for the Meg Ambassador hosted by Maxene Magalona (Season 2 and 3) and MEGA Fashion Crew Reloaded hosted by Suki Salvador and Allison Harvard – both programs aired on ETC Channel.) Furthermore, he shot, wrote and directed the very first fashion documentary film in the Philippines titled, #MakingMEGA: Anne Curtis in South America (2013) and #MakingMEGA in South Africa (2014).

He produced and directed the PMPC Star Awards for TV Best Reality Show of 2014, “It Takes GUTZ to be a Gutierrez” starring one of Philippines most controversial and loved Showbiz family (Eddie, Annabel, Ruffa, Raymond and Richard Gutierrez.) The show made history as the first Filipino celebrity family reality show aired simultaneously in 20 countries in Asia through E! Asia Channel.
