BJ Pascual is one of the Philippines' most talented young photographers. After taking a slew of classes in New York's Parsons School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, and the International Center for Photography, he came home to Manila and promptly staked his claim on the city's burgeoning fashion industry, producing a formidable body of work that includes some of the era's most memorable fashion and celebrity images.
His work has become omnipresent among the covers of the country's most distinguished publications - Preview, Mega, LÓfficiel Manila, Rogue, Esquire Philippines, Cosmopolitan Philippines, and Philippine Tatler, among them - as well as the billboards and ads that line the country's major highways. In recent years, he's expanded his portfolio by shooting for international publications like Suitcase and OutThere, and working with international personalities like Coco Rocha, Sky Ferreira, and Troye Sivan.
In 2015, he condensed the milestones and learnings of the first few years of his career in the book Push: Muses, Mischief, & How to Make it in Manila, which became an instant bestseller and social media sensation. Today, he is one of the city's most in-demand hired guns and an increasingly popular personality in his own right, with a Uniqlo and Samsung endorsement, and several solo magazine covers under his belt.
